The Foundation of Wellness
Last Summer, I spent invaluable time studying the Six Pillars of Lifestyle Medicine with a number of international wellness professionals across various disciplines while completing Harvard’s Lifestyle and Wellness Coaching Program at Harvard Medical School.
At the time, I was in the early stages of building Julie Catherine Wellness and was hungry for more knowledge about the science that supports healthy wellness practices for women. What I learned only deepened my passion and validated the importance of the work that I’m doing.
This was critical for me, not just to ground my vision in the modalities that support lasting, meaningful well-being, but also to inspire and solidify the approach I was already incorporating into Julie Catherine Wellness.
It also strengthened my desire to support, uplift, and thoughtfully share these insights with as many women as I can reach.
While there is so much still unfolding within my business—details that will reveal themselves in time—my most heartfelt intention for each retreat is simple: holistic support and meaningful connection.
A space where conversations go deeper.
Where women gather not to impress, but to be.
Where women are seen for who they are, not who they want to be.
It’s within these moments—quiet, unstructured, still—that allows for meaningful connection. We begin to see one another clearly. We remember that beneath the surface, every woman is navigating something. And that truth softens us. It connects us.
There is a natural exchange that occurs in these safe spaces—a sharing of lived wisdom. A fresh perspective, a revitalized routine, a nourishing recipe, or a new ritual that resonates.
Sometimes, it’s even more subtle than that.
A lightness.
A spark.
An energy shift.
And those around her feel it.
Each woman leaves with an enduring gift that stays with her… that she will inevitably pass on to others. This is how care expands—naturally, organically, and exponentially.
When women feel healthy, supported, and clear, the ripple effect is profound. It touches our homes, our relationships, and our communities. Mothers, partners, leaders, creators—we carry so much. And when we are nourished, everything we touch benefits.
The Foundation of Our Retreats
At the foundation of this work are the Six Pillars of Lifestyle Medicine: movement, nourishment, sleep, stress management, connection, and the mindful avoidance of harmful substances.
Each retreat is intentionally designed to honor and support these pillars. I mindfully weave these practices seamlessly into an experience that feels less like a program, and more like a realignment to support what your body naturally craves.

1. Movement
Guidelines encourage consistent weekly activity that strengthen our bodies and support long-term health.
At my retreats, movement isn’t an obligation—it’s an invigorating experience that you look forward to—morning yoga, coastal walks, and space to move in a way that feels natural and restoring.

2. Nourishment
Whole-food, plant-forward cuisine that supports optimal wellness.
Here, meals are thoughtfully prepared to restore and energize—inviting you to slow down, savor, and enjoy the process of replenishment.

3. Restorative Sleep
Seven to nine hours of quality sleep is essential for overall well-being.
I have curated a beautiful evening-turndown routine in luxurious enclaves that supports calm so that rest becomes deeper, supported, and uninterrupted.

4. Stress Management
Even a few minutes of daily stillness can shift and settle the nervous system.
Through meditation, reflection, and space throughout the day to pause, your entire system—mind, body, and soul—is given the chance to reset.
5. Connection
Meaningful connection is vital to our well-being.
At our retreats, conversations unfold naturally—around the table, by the pool, on the trail— inviting ease, understanding, and shared experience.

6. Mindful Living
Limiting harmful substances supports clarity and balance.
An alcohol-free environment allows for deeper rest, clearer connection, and a more grounded sense of self. Our mocktails leave space for the social without the sugar and alcohol.
Together, these six pillars become the cornerstones for a lifestyle of holistic wellness.
